The Carol Green Wilson Scholarship shall be awarded to a member of Kappa Alpha Theta majoring in creative writing, English, or journalism. Applicants must be initiated members, college and alumni, of Kappa Alpha Theta in good standing with the Fraternity. New members may apply but should be initiated by the application deadline. A recommendation from a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and a recommendation from an academic or professional reference are required. The Intensive English Alumni Scholarship aims to assist deserving alumni passionate about advancing their careers and education in the entertainment media industry. Applicants must have completed a Full Sail Intensive English certificate program and be in good academic and financial standing. They must start a degree program within 60 days of completing the requirements of the Intensive English certificate program. The Fonthill Writing Award is available to prospective students with proven exemplary writing skills who are eager to either further develop their writing skills or pursue professional fields that will draw heavily on their writing skills. Fonthill scholars are the leaders of the writing community at Mount Saint Vincent, spearheading student publications such as The Mount Times, the University's student newspaper, and The Underground, its literary magazine, which was founded in 1921. Applicants must submit an 8-10-page portfolio. Fonthill scholars must maintain a 3.0 GPA and actively participate in the writing community on campus.

The Matthew S. Therrien $1000 Memorial Award is available to outstanding students majoring in English at UH Hilo. Students must have demonstrated coursework excellence in writing (fiction and/or non-fiction). Students are nominated by the English faculty. The Droste awards are made possible by a bequest from the estate of the late Howard and Yoneko Droste, longtime faculty members who taught a combined total of 45 years at UH Hilo in the English and Art departments. The awards for excellence in writing are competitive. Students must submit papers to specific awards categories. The papers are anonymized and undergo double-blind review by English faculty. The writing awards are presented at the annual Spring College of Art History & Sciences Student Awards Convocation. English faculty members nominate students for the bookstore vouchers by using ballots.

In 1988, as a memorial to their daughter, Marilyn A. Doubrava, Sterling M. Doubrava and Kathryn L. Doubrava established these scholarships. Preference given to Graduate Student in English who are serving as teaching assistants.

The Marcus Second Year Graduate Student Scholarship is open to Graduate Student in any genre who have shown their commitment to rich and ambitious writing and translation. Students must submit a work-in-progress demonstrating attention to craft, cultural/social awareness, and the complexity of human experience. The recipient would also be a student for whom this award would make a significant difference in their ability to focus on their studies and their writing. The Frank Baldanza English Scholarship provides support to an outstanding junior or senior underGraduate Student in the English Department program. The student must have a minimum of 3.5 overall GPA with a minimum 3.7 GPA in English courses, must have completed 60 hours, and demonstrate exceptional academic performance.

The Andrew Ruzkowski Memorial Scholarship was established to assist deserving Poetry students in defraying tuition costs. This award is available to undergraduate and Graduate Student who will complete at least one full-time semester at Columbia by the end of the Fall 2023 semester. Graduate Student enrolled in a 0 credit hour thesis continuance course are not eligible to apply.
